Powered by JuniorBuddy, participants will assemble a JuniorBuddy device which will be gifted to communities in developing countries. During the event, participants will also learn about energy poverty and the effects it has on people around the world. Teams will learn how innovative designed solar solutions can combat energy poverty.

The JuniorBuddy is a compact, solar-powered LED lamp created to bring dependable, eco-friendly lighting to children living without reliable electricity. Designed for both study and everyday use, it’s more than a light — it’s a catalyst for opportunity, learning, and progress.
In communities where power access is scarce or unpredictable, the JuniorBuddy offers a safe and sustainable lighting option. By replacing harmful or costly alternatives, it helps improve education outcomes, supports family health and finances, and promotes environmental responsibility.
