It’s possible your only experience with sake has been an overheated serving at sushi dinner or a more regrettable sake bomb. High end, quality rice wine has been rising in popularity thanks in part to sake aficionados like our expert Takasan whose mission is to share the enjoyment of quality sake with a western audience. Raise a glass and toast with a “Kanpai!” alongside a Takasan sake expert who will guide you in a sake tasting and cultural exploration of Japanese drinking traditions.
During the virtual sake tasting, guests will enjoy experiencing the different flavors of sake, understand how to order based on their preferences, and learn sake customs and Japanese vocabulary. You’ll feel like you’re on an international travel trip while sitting at home. The only thing you’ll need is “betsu” (another!).
Participants will receive 3-6 high quality servings of different sakes from imported from Japan. Planners can also elect to send Japanese snack food pairings, sake cups called sakazuki, or even a whole meal. Sushi isn’t the only food that goes great with sake, consider a platter of delicious short ribs or teriyaki chicken.
