Team Building at Newport Dunes Resort

We never turn down sun, sand, and waterfront based team building. When our client One Legacy asked us to host our Iron Team Challenge at Newport Dunes resort we did a little dance. Newport Dunes has it all! We grabbed our team and headed down to their corporate meeting space with our big bag of team building tricks.

Winner of the Rock, Paper, Scissors energizer

We started the group off with our hilarious rock, paper, scissors battle on the lawn. The group was cheering and yelling and lifting victors into the air. We LOVED this group. We then challenged the group to dig a little deeper. Studies have proven that high performing teams excel at connecting on a personal level. One of the first steps is moving beyond “How was your day?”

Once we had the group divided into teams we unleashed them on our Iron Team Challenges. It’s our version of a team building Olympics. Each round teams rotate to a new challenge and face a new opponent. The challenges require teams to work together, communicate, and trust if they’re going to win. We’ve designed them so dominant skills or personalities can’t hijack the game.

After the mayhem and laughter of the Iron Team we moved into the meeting space. We primed the groups with prompts that allowed them to reflect on the experience and share highlights with people on other teams. Gathering them back into their teams we lead a discussion to discover what the takeaways for the day were. What can they take from the day’s activities that is relevant to their day to day responsibilities?

Orange County Team Building that Gives Back: Corporate Social Responsibility

Charity team BuildingCorporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in team building usually refers to adding a charitable or environmental element to your event. The combination of CSR with team building can lead to community involvement, environmental stewardship and it shows the world what your company stands for. Studies have shown that employee retention is stronger when employees are allowed to devote a portion of their work week to volunteering. A great CSR event is energizing and inspiring and often leads to a more productive workforce.  In 2014 Hewlett-Packard had 40,000 employees in 82 countries log more than 1.6 million volunteer hours. What will your impact be?

Need ideas? We LOVE partnering with companies that want to make a difference. We are constantly finding new ways to partner our clients and worthy causes. Our most common charitable team building events are the Charity Bike Build and the Care Package Assembly. These are common sights at Sales Conferences, quarterly meetings, and incentive trips here in Orange County. The beauty of either of these events is that there is always a need and we can complete an event in a couple of hours.

AutoAlert brought HUGE spirit and energy to the Iron Team Challenge we created with them! Their enthusiasm was high during the challenge rotations and jumped even higher during the final “Gauntlet”. Vortex Doors – Tactical Team Building Challenge in Orange County

Vortex Doors conquered our A-Team Tactical team building challenge in Orange County last week. They gave 100% as they rotated through our fully interactive shooting simulators, hand to hand combat instruction, and the team challenges. Vortex Doors proved why they are at the top of their industry. The confidence, camaraderie, and trust they displayed serves them well in our scenarios and in the workplace.

Our A-Team Tactical Challenge emphasizes trust, communication, and problem solving under stressful conditions. Teams must learn to filter out the noise and trust their instincts in high paced tactical simulations designed to distract and overwhelm.
